Youth Work Virtual

Creating Immersive Digital Spaces for Inclusive Youth Engagement

What is Youth Work Virtual?

Youth Work Virtual offers a safe, immersive space where young people are supported rather than exploited. By embedding youth work principles at its core, the initiative provides an inclusive and creative environment where youth workers and young people alike can engage, develop, and lead.

It demonstrates how technology can be designed for empowerment rather than manipulation, fostering digital literacy, self-expression, and positive social engagement.

The VR space will operate as a structured youth work organisation with a clear plan for staffing and long-term sustainability. At least 15 youth workers will be trained to a Master’s level, equipping them with the expertise to innovate and advance youth work in virtual settings.

This initiative also creates new pathways for young people to develop critical skills for the digital age. By fostering collaboration, creativity, and technical literacy, it empowers young people to navigate and shape digital spaces responsibly.

The project encourages youth-led innovation and equips participants to actively contribute to their communities and explore opportunities in education, employment, and entrepreneurship. Through this, young people will not only engage with immersive technology but also help define its future in a way that prioritises inclusion, ethical engagement, and personal development.
